About Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) helps you understand how users are interacting with your mobile app—what pages they visit, how long they stay, where they come from, and what actions they take (like purchases, adding items to cart, etc.).

Appbrew integrates GA4 using Firebase Analytics, Google’s official method for tracking app events. Once connected, you’ll be able to see data like sessions, purchases, traffic sources, and drop-offs directly in your GA4 dashboard.

GA4 integration is fully self-serve and can be set up through the Studio dashboard.

Use Cases

GA4 helps brands answer key questions like:

  • How many users installed the app from a specific campaign?
  • Where are users dropping off during the shopping journey?
  • What’s the conversion rate from product view to purchase?
  • Which source (Google Ads, Instagram, etc.) led to the most revenue?
  • Are users coming back or uninstalling the app?

Troubleshooting / FAQ

Q: I don’t see any data in GA4 after enabling the integration.

A: Data typically starts flowing within 24 hours of setup. Ensure the correct Firebase project is connected and published to the app.

Q: Can I set this up without a developer?

A: Yes, as long as you have access to the Firebase credentials (like the admin secret key). The rest is handled by Appbrew’s system.

Q: Can GA4 show which users completed purchases or added items to cart?

A: Yes. All key e-commerce events like "Add to Cart", "Checkout", and "Purchase" are tracked.

Q: Can I use GA4 with Google Ads?

A: Yes. You can link GA4 to your Google Ads account to track conversions across platforms.

Q: What’s the difference between “first_open” and “app_install”?

A: "first_open" is tracked by GA4 the first time someone opens the app. "app_install" can be triggered by other tools like ad networks.

Q: Can I view campaigns like Facebook or Instagram in GA4?

A: Yes. Campaigns that use UTM parameters will show up in the GA4 traffic acquisition report.
